The energy in the room said one thing clearly: the industry is ready for this conversation.

On stage, our session "The Eyes & Brain of the Plantation" explored practical, high-impact AI in oil palm, from field capture to AI-driven budgeting.

The 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 class wrapped up today.
One message every participant took home: AI is not an oracle but a tool. The model brings speed. The manager brings knowledge of the estate. We covered the BRIEF framework, live demos of building weekly reports and bilingual morning briefings, and how to use AI safely without leaking estate data.
Domain knowledge guides the technology, not the other way around.
Indonesian Planters Society's Pertemuan Teknis
9–10 December 2025
I was honored to speak at the Indonesian Planters Society's Pertemuan Teknis in Palembang about transforming oil palm operations through Plantation AI. As the industry faces scaling and labor challenges, we are shifting from broad, block-level estimates to precise, tree-level management powered by Vision AI, Data Fusion, and Digital Twins. These technologies overcome complex plantation variations by objectively monitoring individual palm health, stress, and maturity at scale, while RAG-powered chatbots provide instant operational insights. Rather than replacing agronomists, this intelligence multiplies their capabilities, enabling precise, data-driven decisions to prove that if we can manage one oil palm well, we can intelligently manage ten million.
AIX AT SCOPEX 2026
AIX was invited by PT Socfin Indonesia and the SCOPEX 2026 organizing committee to speak in Medan. The session was titled "AI Applications in Oil Palm: From Yield Forecasting to Smart Farming". It examined the industry's shift from reactive plantation management to predictive management.
Three ideas from the session:

Getting ahead of the biological time lag. Yield responds to stress many months later. Predictive forecasting and deep learning surface the signal early, before it reaches the bottom line.

The hybrid engine. Vision AI reads the health of each palm, and agronomic machine learning reads climate, progeny, and nutrient data. Together they build a working digital twin of the plantation.

Precision in the field. Teams move beyond block averages toward tracking individual palms, so that attention goes where the crop needs it.
